You can either buy a traditional PBX which has, by its nature, fixed scalability options and functionality. When you out grow the system you typically have to throw away the PBX hardware and purchase a new larger PBX. If you want additional features such as voicemail, or conferencing capabilities, someone who understands the complexity of traditional PBXs will need to spend some time re-configuring the system.
Or you can buy an IP System such as the Swyx solution which is fully scalable and you pay as you grow so you never need to purchase a new phone system again. Adding functionality such as conferencing and sophisticated call routing can be done simply through a new license key so applications can easily be added when you feel the time is right for your business.
SwyxWare runs on Microsoft® Windows® Server platforms as well as Microsoft® Windows®XP Pro. It contains the complete functionality of a classical PBX, but also provides high-performance phone functions including call handling, call connection, call authorisation and all call switching processes as well as the management of group calls. SwyxWare also comprises a client in the form of the SwyxIt! softphone which means that businesses do not even need a physical phone in order to make and take calls. For businesses that prefer to use a physical phone, SwyxWare can work with a wide range of phones including IP, SIP, digital, analogue, and DECT wireless phones.
